Paper butterflies are not only dainty and chic, they're also fun to make. Try your hand at origami to create one or, if you're more of a crafting beginner, fold a simpler version with pretty pleats. When you're finished, use your butterflies as decor or give them to friends and family as gifts.
– Print and cut out the free template. (Get yours at the bottom of this post.)
– Trace around the shapes onto coloured card or paper of your choice and cu out the pieces.
– Make your butterfly’s face and body by drawing the features onto your oval pattern piece. We used a black Sharpie Pen to draw the smile and striped body and a pink Sharpie to make the rosy cheeks.
– Glue the butterfly body onto the middle of the wings.
– Glue the inner wing patterns onto the butterfly wings. Children can cut or draw additional patterns too of course. It’s a fun way to learn about symmetry!
– Finish your cute paper butterfly craft by glueing on the two small antennae.
